Privacy Policy: Fuzzy Match for Sheets

This policy explains what the "Fuzzy Match for Sheets" add-on (the "Add-on") does with your data. The Add-on is provided by FOP Ihor Aleksandrin ("we", "us"), contact: [email protected]. Website: https://dobriedela.com/
Short version: the Add-on runs inside your Google account. We do not have a server that receives your spreadsheet data, and we cannot see it. Your data is not sold, shared, used for advertising or used to train AI models.
1. What the Add-on accesses
- The spreadsheet you opened it in (scope
spreadsheets.currentonly): when you use the sidebar, the Add-on reads the two single-column ranges you choose (list A and list B) and, to re-match or re-classify, the sheet it created for you. It writes the result to a new sheet in that same spreadsheet (named "Fuzzy matches"). It reads cell values only as text for comparison. - The sidebar and menu (scope
script.container.ui): to show the Add-on's menu item and sidebar. - The formulas
FUZZYSCORE,FUZZYMATCH,FUZZYLOOKUPandFUZZYMATCHALLcalculate on the cells you pass to them, inside Google's Apps Script, and need no permission. They store nothing.
The Add-on does not access other files, your Drive, your contacts, your calendar, your e-mail or your Google profile. It does not send e-mail and creates no triggers.
2. What the Add-on stores, and where
All of the following is stored inside your Google account, in Apps Script's property storage for this spreadsheet or for your user, or in your spreadsheet. We do not receive a copy.

The result sheet contains the text of your cells, so anyone who can view your spreadsheet can read it. Share the spreadsheet accordingly.
3. What is sent out, and to whom
- Nothing is sent to us or to any third party by the Add-on. It makes no external network requests, has no analytics or telemetry, and shows no ads.
- License keys are verified offline inside the Add-on (a digital signature check). The key contains your product name, plan, expiry date and a short one-way hash of the e-mail address used for purchase, not the address itself. Purchases are handled on our website by a third-party payment provider; the Add-on never sees payment details.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy: Limited Use
The Add-on's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular: we use Google user data only to provide the matching feature you started; we do not transfer it to others; we do not use it for serving ads; and no humans read it (we have no access to it).
5. Retention and deletion
- Data stays until you delete it. Delete the result sheet to remove the matching result. The stored settings of a result sheet (section 2) stay in the spreadsheet's property storage until the spreadsheet is deleted; they contain range references and counts, not cell contents.
- Removing the Add-on (Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons) stops it. You can revoke access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions . Remove your Pro key in the sidebar before uninstalling if you want it gone from your account's properties.
- Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot retrieve or delete it for you; you control it directly.
6. Your responsibilities
You decide what data you compare. If your lists contain personal data, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to process it and for following the data-protection laws that apply to you (such as GDPR). You are the controller; we do not process your spreadsheet content on our servers.
7. Security
Data is handled by Google's infrastructure under your account's protections. The Add-on's code does not send data anywhere else. Keep your Google account and spreadsheet sharing settings secure.
8. Children
The Add-on is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be published at https://dobriedela.com/legal/sheets-fuzzy-match with a new "Last updated" date. Adding a new permission requires your fresh consent on Google's consent screen.
