Privacy Policy: Date Reminders for Sheets
Last updated: 2026-11-04
This policy explains what the "Date Reminders for Sheets" add-on (the "Add-on") does with your data. The Add-on is provided by FOP Ihor Aleksandrin ("we", "us"), contact: [email protected]. Website: https://dobriedela.com/
Short version: the Add-on runs inside your Google account. We do not have a server that receives your spreadsheet data, and we cannot see it. Your data is not sold, shared, used for advertising or used to train AI models.
1. What the Add-on accesses
When you use the Add-on in a spreadsheet, it accesses, through Google's Apps Script services and only with the permissions you grant on Google's consent screen:
- The spreadsheet you opened it in (scope
spreadsheets.currentonly): the sheet names, the header row, and the cells of the columns you choose for a rule (a date column, an e-mail column, and any columns you use as placeholders in your message). It also creates and writes a hidden sheet named_reminders_login that spreadsheet. - Your Google account's ability to send e-mail (scope
script.send_mail): to send the reminder e-mails you configured, and to read how many messages you can still send today. The Add-on cannot read, search, delete or modify your mailbox. - Triggers (scope
script.scriptapp): to create and delete one daily time-driven trigger so reminders are sent when the spreadsheet is closed. - The sidebar and menu (scope
script.container.ui): to show the Add-on's menu item and sidebar.
The Add-on does not access other files, your Drive, your contacts, your calendar, or your e-mail content, and it does not read your e-mail address from your Google profile. For a test e-mail you type the address yourself.
2. What the Add-on stores, and where
All of the following is stored inside your Google account, in Apps Script's property storage for this spreadsheet or for your user, or in your spreadsheet. We do not receive a copy.
| Data | Where | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Your reminder rules (names, sheet and column names, timing, recipient column or fixed addresses, subject and message templates) | Document properties of the spreadsheet | To run your rules |
| Add-on settings (hour of the daily check, catch-up days, sender name, last check summary) | Document properties | To run the daily check and show its status |
| Monthly send counter and test-send counter | Document / user properties | To apply the plan limits |
| Send log: time, rule name, sheet, row number, recipient address, scheduled day, status, error text, a technical de-duplication key | Hidden sheet _reminders_log in your spreadsheet | To show you what was sent and to avoid sending the same reminder twice |
| The last test-send address you typed | User properties | Convenience |
| Your Pro license key | User properties | To keep Pro active |
The send log contains the e-mail addresses of the people you e-mail. It lives in your spreadsheet, so anyone who can edit that spreadsheet can unhide and read it. Share the spreadsheet accordingly.
3. What is sent out, and to whom
- Reminder e-mails are sent through Google's mail service from your Google account to the recipients you configured. Recipients see your account as the sender (or the sender name you set). Message content is built from your template and the cells you reference. The e-mails and their content are subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy.
- Nothing is sent to us or to any third party by the Add-on. It makes no external network requests, has no analytics or telemetry, and shows no ads.
- License keys are verified offline inside the Add-on (a digital signature check). The key contains your product name, plan, expiry date and a short one-way hash of the e-mail address used for purchase, not the address itself. Purchases are handled on our website by a third-party payment provider; the Add-on never sees payment details.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy: Limited Use
The Add-on's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular: we use Google user data only to provide the reminder features you configure; we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide those features (the e-mails you ask the Add-on to send); we do not use it for serving ads; and no humans read it (we have no access to it).
5. Retention and deletion
- Data stays until you delete it. Delete a rule in the sidebar to remove it. Delete the
_reminders_logsheet to remove the log (the Add-on recreates it empty when needed; de-duplication then starts fresh, so a reminder still inside its catch-up window could be sent again). - Removing the Add-on (Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons) stops it. The rules and settings stay stored with the spreadsheet in your account, so delete your rules in the sidebar before uninstalling if you want them gone; deleting the spreadsheet removes them. You can revoke access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions . Switching off "Check every day" in the sidebar removes the daily trigger.
- Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot retrieve or delete it for you; you control it directly.
6. Recipients' data and your responsibilities
You decide whom to e-mail. You are responsible for having a lawful basis (for example consent or legitimate interest) to e-mail those people, and for following anti-spam and data-protection laws that apply to you (such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR and PECR). For the contents of your spreadsheet, you are the controller; we do not process it on our servers.
7. Security
Data is handled by Google's infrastructure under your account's protections. The Add-on's code does not send data anywhere else. Keep your Google account and spreadsheet sharing settings secure.
8. Children
The Add-on is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be published at https://dobriedela.com/legal/sheets-date-reminders with a new "Last updated" date. Adding a new permission requires your fresh consent on Google's consent screen.
